Have you been meaning to have a book clear out (and to get some exciting new titles?) then put this date in your diaries! Saturday 11 November, 10-30 till 12.30 – there’s a ‘Book Bring and Buy Sale’ in the library (Vicarage Lane, Gresford, LL12 8UW – just a minute’s walk from The Plough). Also fish’n’chips for two (donated by the Yew Tree Takeaway), a £10 voucher from Blooming Marvellous (in the village) and a bottle of white wine donated by the Gresford newsagents. Great prizes again this year – £50 to spend on a lovely meal in the Pant yr Ochain or the Golden Lion – perfect for celebrating Valentine’s Day!! A bargain at just a £1 a ticket and you’ll be helping the library along the way as well. Now that we’ve finished the Children’s Library refurbishment (it looks beautiful) we’re saving up to replace the front windows with safe and more energy efficient glass and to make the toilet warmer and baby-changing-friendly. Any money we raise will go towards these goals.
