GDCL – All sorts of books and formats
We have fiction and non-fiction books for adults and children in a range of formats and if the title you’re looking for isn’t on our shelves we can request it for you from another Wrexham library (see Find and Request a Book).
Audio Book Collection: If you like being read a story – and even grown ups do – have a look at our Audio Book Collection. You’ll be surprised at how many titles we carry – read by actors whose voices you will know and love and, here again, we can request audio book titles for you if the one you want isn’t on our shelves.
Large print books are also pricey to buy so save yourself a bob or two and borrow them from GDCL instead! If your eyes aren’t as good as they used to be you can borrow large print books from us. We have hundreds of them and, again, can request titles from other libraries for you.
Quick Reads: if you find long books daunting we have a selection of ‘quick reads’. 1 in 6 adults of working age in the UK may never pick up a book; people’s reasons for not reading are varied – some people say they find long books scary and intimidating, thinking they are ‘not for them’ and that they will be difficult or boring.
Quick Reads set out to show that books and reading can be for everyone. Each year they commission big name authors to write short books that are specifically designed to be easy to read – they are simply shorter and easier to tackle.
